Sargent Early Learning Center (SELC) is a cooperative learning center offering a developmentally appropriate program for young children. We are a 501(c)(3) non‑profit organization located on the campus of Sargent School in Monte Vista, Colorado. SELC is proud to be a Colorado Shines 5‑Star Rated program. At SELC, we use the Creative Curriculum for Toddlers and Twos and the Creative Curriculum for Preschoolers. Our older classrooms incorporate Read Well, while our younger classrooms use Zoo-Phonics to support early literacy development.
Our program is designed to build confidence, social skills, motor development, and cognitive growth. Children learn through play, music and movement, school‑readiness activities, and hands‑on learning centers—all guided by trained, caring, and professional staff.
SELC provides care and education for children ages 1 through 5, including dedicated preschool classrooms for children in their pre‑kindergarten year. Our annual schedule closely aligns with the Sargent School District calendar. The center is a licensed facility with a maximum capacity of 66 children.
